WebView+ from MBS Technologies, Inc., is a native iSeries solution that provides browser-based document search and retrieval capabilities for IBM's DB2 Content Manager for iSeries and Content Manager WAF for iSeries. From a standard web browser interface (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator), users can search for, retrieve, and display documents and text notes stored in Content Manager and WAF.

Image Format Conversion

Optional add-on WebView modules are available to convert images on the fly so documents sent to requesting users will arrive in the desired image format. Images can be delivered to appear in-line in the same browser window, or to launch a separate browser window. Currently available image format converters are:

Security

For web serving, WebView can utilize either the iSeries IBM HTTP server or Apache server. In addition it natively supports the use of a separate external iSeries HTTP server for implementations where the main iSeries machine cannot be exposed outside the organization's firewall. All iSeries, Content Manager, and WAF security and authorization settings are fully implemented. Passwords are encrypted and OS/400 SSL is supported.

Out of the Box or Integrated

For basic implementations, WebView can operate as a stand-alone browser solution for Content Manager and WAF. A set of predefined HTML pages are provided to conduct basic repository searches and retrievals. WebView configuration settings allow the HTML page header and footer on all results pages to be changed by the customer for tighter integration with the look and feel of existing websites. For more complex implementations, WebView+ components can be called programmatically from a custom website application or to support customized implementations of Content Manager or WAF.

Native
